1. I really, really despise anything you put on your lips. I especially despise lip color. I only apply lip balm when my lips are so dry they begin to crack. This is not a good characteristic for a belly dancer. Especially an American cabaret style belly dancer. Belly dancers are supposed to like makeup. This one really, really dislikes makeup. Over the last six years of performances I’ve managed to find makeup I can enjoy wearing…or at least tolerate: MAC eye shadows (wow they were expensive!), mineral blushes, foundations, and finishing powders, waterproof mascara that somehow adds a lot of length to my lashes. Once I get most of this stuff on, I barely notice it’s there. It also can stay on for hours. Lip color that didn’t totally gross me out has eluded me. In the beginning the stuff nearly made me gag. Then I found a longer lasting lip stick that wasn’t quite so bad…still…yuck. Before I can eat or drink anything I have to scrub the lipstick off– because very few things are grosser to me than lipstick marks on glasses or skin.

   After reading the reviews about Benetint, I ordered a small sample bottle. It came today and I had to give it a try. I applied it to my lips– just one coat. I waited about a minute–it looked dry. I gingerly pressed a finger to my lip…no stickiness…not even a drop of color came off! Wow. Even better: I don’t feel like I’m wearing anything! This stuff has really stained my lips! I even let my boyfriend kiss me with lips that have color on them! Then I took a bath. I washed my face with a washcloth and soapy water (same old routine) and no color came off. This stuff is good! Now, I like my lips dry. People who don’t like their lips dry will probably want to add gloss. Depending on the venue I’m dancing at, I may or may not wear gloss over the Benetint. I’d probably add another coat as well just to add a bit more color and balance out the rest of the makeup. So…if you despise lip makeup as much as I do, but you need to wear it for some special occasion or performance, give this stuff a try. I’m pretty sure the tiny vial will last me a long time, but I won’t hesitate buying a large bottle even at Sephora for the full price if I have to.

2. Do not buy this product. It is so thin that and has such a strange consistency that it does not even stick on your skin or work!

3. Benetint is a little pricey, but I have to say that it is worth it. I LOVE how it just gives my cheeks a faint natural-looking rosey blush! There aren’t many blush products that look so natural. I love this stuff!!

4. Can’t imagine going anywhere without this tint! On cheeks it looks very natural, and nicely defines cheekbones. I love using it on my lips because you only need to apply it once and the color will last all day. Well worth the price because you don’t need to use more than a dab. I always get compliments when I wear it!

5. I have worn and loved Benetint for over nine years and it is even better now that I can purchase from Amazon! I first tried it at a Macy’s counter and have used it everyday since then. It gives my cheeks and lips a nice subtle pop of color that I need because of my fair skin. It is super easy to apply and stays all day. Even through the Las Vegas heat and my long days with middle school students. Even though I use it everyday, I only use about one bottle a year. I highly recommend this product!
