I researched the hell out of Dr. Bronner’s when I wanted a more natural shampoo/soap, and it received nothing but positive responses – so I bought it in Peppermint. The smell is lovely, but it DOES NOT wash my hair, though it is advertised as an 18-in-1 magic soap – shampoo included.

Let me preface by saying I have VERY thick hair.

The first time I noticed that it wasn’t clean was while I was camping. After a shower, the back of my hair felt wet and heavy for WAY too long, so I checked it out in the bathroom, and it looked like my hair was greasy and filled with residue. At first I dismissed it based on the water pressure from camping.

When I returned home, I used Dr. Bronner’s on my hair two days in a row, taking special care to make sure my hair was completely rinsed. By the second day, my hair was gnarly and matted in the back.

Unfortunately, even using this as a body wash makes my skin feel tight.

I REALLY wanted to like this shampoo. I was hoping it would change my life.

I have heard a lot about this soap, and finally I broke down and got a bottle of the peppermint. It is amazing stuff.

    **Completely organic

**Smells amazing, but strong even when diluted. It goes away pretty quickly though.

**Fantastic for sensitive skin. I used to be able to use whatever I wanted, but thanks to immune system problems, I had to switch to completely natural/organic body and household products. Especially with how hot this summer has been, the peppermint makes for a totally refreshing shower or quick hand/face cooling wash.

**Safe for color treated hair since it doesn’t have any sulfates which is what fades color. You do need to use conditioner though if you use this for shampoo.

**Great for pets too. I checked with a couple of vets and all three agreed this was a very safe wash, especially since it contains no funky chemicals. And yes, whatever scent used fades pretty quickly, though a minty or lavender scented dog is much preferable to one that just rolled in a dead rabbit. Trust me on this one….

**It is super concentrated. Since it can be diluted one part soap to 40 parts water, a bottle can last months. For heavier, dirtier jobs, I add a bit more soap. Best part? No filmy residue that makes me have to go back and rinse mop the floor several times. A really welcome change for me from most commercial and some natural products.

**Works well in my HE washing machine since it’s low sudsing.

**I haven’t used it for some of the other uses like tooth brushing, but I imagine it would work well for that, too.

Yep, I am pretty pleased with this soap. It’s hard to find a product nowadays that really does live up to it’s promises. It may not work for everyone, but I really recommend getting the smallest bottle just to try it out. One of it’s 18 uses is bound to work for you.

This review is about the Rose scent

The soap itself is great, but to me the rose scent does not smell like roses. It might as well be called Flowers. I was hoping it would smell like rose water, but it is not distinctive. Wish I had know that before I ordered.

No problems at all. This makes a great body wash. Also have used it for general cleaning around the house, including doing dishes. It does have a strong scent, but I love it.

I love the smell of this. It is the srongest that I have smelled and makes a rich later. It is rather pricey so I recylce my lather pumping hand soap bottles and use this in it. Basically fill the empty foaming soap bottle 2/3 full of water and fill up the rest of the way with Dr. Bronner’s (leave about an inch so there is room for the pump). Close it up tight and shake. You will still get the same great scent but the bottle will last so much longer.
