3 years ago I used to keep a beard and used this product. I never had any problems with it at all. I used it again 4 days ago and I can’t believe what it has done to my skin. I really can’t believe that this product is on the market. I applied it as directed as I always had. Only kept it on for 5 mins. I washed it out with a very mind shampoo after and everything seemed fine. In about 6 hours my face had started to become red and blotchy where it had made contact. Over night my face swelled and become one very large blister. The second day it was trying to scab up. This isn’t an allergy or skin sensitivity, this is a very serious chemical burn – I would guess 2nd degree. I do not have sensitive skin – I frequently dry shave without issues. I have had to work from home for 3 days now because there is no way that I can conduct business like this. I have had to sleep on my back. Now on the 4th day, after regularly taking benadryl, advil, and drinking lots of water the swelling is starting to go down just a little but it is still clearly a giant burn blister. This isn’t something that is just going to suddenly go away. This is the equivalent of just applying acid to your face. I hope at least one person reads these reviews before using this and avoids all this discomfort. This product needs a serious FDA investigation.

I have been using JFM for quite a few years with only a few itchy times here and there. But, MY GOD WTF is in the product now? I’ve done the patch test with no adverse results, but my face is ON FIRE. I do believe that there have been chemical burns to my skin as it’s bright red, burns like hell. I have been scratching so intensely that I have literally cut my cheeks with my nails. It’s 3:20 a.m. and I cannot get to sleep as my face is freaking burning. I had applied the gel yesterday morning about 10:00 and it’s been burning since then. I’ve considered going to the ER-Yes it’s that bad. I was looking in the mirror at the skin and noticed what appeared to be my skin peeling away when I scratched. DO NOT USE! I think there needs to be some sort of law suit to this company.

I now have crusty puss scabs under a beard that went balck not brown. i am totally embarrassed cause if I shave it now I will have burn marks showing. If i let it grow out my beard roots will turn grey in a week. What a drag. I used it for 6 months no problem, now I am in pain. My upper lip has been peeling and cracking after I eat. I go out in public and my scabs show, I have a lot of face time with people and this is gonna be weird.

This product offers great coverage and convenience. Just be careful, because the longer you leave it in the darker your beard gets…

you only need five minutes to achieve the correct color.

Used just for men for a few yrs and like others,in 2008 I began having serious burning issues. Bumps, severe redness and oozing bumps. I was forced to stop using it and so began my search.

I found the perfect, hypo allergenic product. Its called Clairol’s Natural instincts LOVING CARE. I purposely capitalized the LOVING CARE part to emphasize the correct formula as there are differnt types of Natural Instinct. No burns whatsoever and it can be used as much as you wish. As safe as shampoo…Highly recommended for those of us who want to get back in the game.
