    I have been using this razor for a year and half now. It still works great. I have been changing out the hydroclean insert about every 3 or 4 months and the blades once a year. I have found that squirting a little hand soap on top of the blades and running the razor about 20 seconds every now and then helps keep the blades fresh smelling. The charging/cleaning stand is a very good idea and gives you a good place to store it between shaves. This razor is not as good as the Norelco on shaving the curves under your neck so I keep a waterproof Norelco in the shower to “finish up’ while I take a shower. Hey, it works for me!

    Best shaver ever. close shave and zero irritation. I have sensitive skin and had an issue of ingrown hairs, but now I get none. Highly reccommended!

    What I find remarkable is that over 200 people gave this a favorable review.

    What you might do before buying is to consider why over 30 people disliked it so much that they left a negative review.

    I’m such a sucker. I read so VERY MANY reviews, on this site and others, and I looked into all the “technology” that goes into the shavers. The concept and the name behind a thing does not make it an improvement. Whatever special shaving angle or cleaning technology the electronics companies might hawk as the latest thing might not translate into a better shave.

    In my case, I’m coming from using a regular non-electric razor. I wanted something that I could just pick up and shave with — it would have to be fast and it would have to work both wet and dry.

    I got this shaver and tried it for about four weeks, wet and dry, many different configurations. It never worked for me. As other reviewers have said, it worked on parts of my face well but not others. I developed new areas of razor burn on my face (even in the fourth week) that I never had before. Also, I didn’t like having some places on my face being shaved so close that it seemed like I shaved UP with a razor, while others seemed not fully shaved. So immediately after the shave I’d look sort of hacked up. This look would be accentuated after a few hours of growth. Also, to get even this poor quality of shave, I’d have to go over and over all areas of my face. It took me about three times as long as shaving with a normal razor, despite the fact that when I shave with a normal razor I have to get wet, wash my face, use shaving gel and after shave, etc.

    I just cannot understand the 200+ positive reviews. This thing actually works for some people?? Incredible.

    Well, my plan was to try it for 30 days and return it if it didn’t work, and that’s what I did. Amazon return was very easy. (My reason for return: “Does not work as advertised.”)

    As for noise, cheap feel, and so on I agree with other negative reviews, but honestly I wouldn’t mind if it were twice as loud and felt like a toy, so long as it could shave my face. Using a razor takes a fraction of the time and my face looks evenly and closely shaved every time.

    I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift. He loves it and comments frequently about how well it works. He uses it in the shower and above the sink. It cleans itself well and he charges it less than once a week. I think it does a great job of shaving closely and taking care of his sensitive skin. He’s had it since Christmas and has not even thought about replacing any parts or the blade – it still works like a champ! We’re both very happy with this purchase.

    I’ve had a Remington for the last 6 years and finally upgraded to this at the recommendation of family who also have it. It takes a little longer for me to shave now (5 minutes instead of 3), but it’s a lot closer than before, and the cleaning kit keeps it fresh and sharp. Also, it’s a lot quieter than I expected, a plus! I don’t like that the cleaning kit requires refills every 6 months, but that’s the nature of the beast.
